Whats the difference between Fort Knox Models?

Fort Knox offers safes from entry level safes to high security. See the page on the home screen to show the difference between each model.

How heavy of a safe can you move?

 We have moved safes up to 5000 pounds. We can handle any safe moving needs.

What is the Heaviest safe I can put in my basement?

This depends. We have installed safes over 2000lbs in the basement. We must verify that we can physically move the safe down the stairs where you want it.

Why do I only see a few American security models on your Web site?

WE only carry American Made products. The other lines of American Security are imported. If you would prefer one of those, we are more than happy to order it for you.

What safe do I need?

This depends on what you are keeping in it. Get in contact with us and we can help you out with what you need, not what we would like to sell. I am not going to recommend to somebody that has $5000 worth of stuff to buy a $15,000 safe. At the same time if you have $200,000 dollars’ worth of stuff, please don’t buy a $5000 safe. Get what is right for what you have.

I live out of town can You deliver there?

Yes, we do many delivery’s across the states of Montana, and Wyoming. Live somewhere else? Not a problem, give us a call and we can take care of you.

I have a lock on my safe I don’t like can I change it?

Yes, we can swap the lock from or to Mechanical or Electronic on any of our safes and many other safes as well.

Do you keep combinations?

No, we do not store any of those.

I have a mechanical lock can you change my code?

Yes, we can easily do that.

Will that fall through my floor?

Well most safes will not. If you have a stick built home we limit the safe to 300 lbs a square foot for upper level homes. This doesn’t sound like much. We offer very few safes that exceed this amount. For Example a 7241 Titan weighs 2160lbs has a bottom surface area of 7.6875 sqft = 280.95lbs a sqft. A Legend (the heaviest model) 7261(the largest safe) weight is 3245lbs. bottom surface area of 11.4375= 283.71 lbs sqft. If we start adding liners and yes we can and have exceeded the limit. No problem we set the safe on a concrete floor.

I am really concerned about fire what should I do?

Well the best thing to do is build a complete concrete vault and install a vault door. If you are buying a safe, either a Fort Knox with the reinforced fire liner or a concrete filled American Security. These offer the next best fire protection.
